the single best idea in this design is the ability of the screen to create physical buttons. The relationship thing is not going to work well. People think of names when searching for stuff, not relationships.
I want this exact idea turned into an operating system. Each focus point on the tree has it’s own options. But instead of the tree visual, I’d want an interface showing only the focus, like zooming into the tree at the point of interest. The branches would be represented by navigating in different directions.
