Whoever responsible for killing peaceful protestors needs to be charged in a court.
Democracy – is that what it’s about? You kid yourself to believe that America cares about democracy. China is the most evil of nations yet we call them our friends for the simple fact that they exploit humans to a tune of 45 cents per hour. Saudi Arabia – a nation that finances much of the terrorists in the ME (don’t forget 9/11)….they provide us oil. OIL – end of story. Israel is a military base in case the power balance in the ME falls out of our favor. Israel is our bitches too.
RATA – America IS Democracy and we value our freedom so much, we will defend it to the last breathe of each American. That does not mean that America should not have diplomatic and economic relations with non-Democratic nations, icluding China or Saudi Arabia. I have neighbors in my city who I disagree with strongly, but, we all talk to each other and enter in commerce with each other. Are you suggesting Isolationism?You want the rest of the world to grow economically as America isolates?
How refreshing to hear some honesty. In essence what you said what commerce trumps all esle when everything is boiled down. Some people, like your forementioned friend, believe that commerce should be empathized with countries such as India & Mexico where there is democracy. You on the other hand probably are aware that where there is democracy there is human rights…China no rights hence the 45 cents per day wages.At least you know you sold your soul to the devil – others are in denial.
Yes, RATA in some form or another, every human being has to step out of their young idealist scene of a perfect world and come down to earth with the reality -One cannot change the world. One cannot change other people. And one has to communicate and deal with others in order to survive. We can complain about human rights violations, but, America no longer has a command presence strong enough to make China be like us. We never did, really. I would love a perfect world where
RATA, America has weakened financially from the Wars and has less respect in the world from our foreign policies. Our economy is fragile.People in glass houses cannot toss rocks of condemnation toward other countries like China.Even though America STILL Does condemn Human rights violations – we cannot act.I am sure our military is still the strongest – and our people strong-willed. America lives in a financial glass house now our survival depends on commerce & friendship w/ other nations.
